The 3 Series facelift (LCI) arrived in mid-2022 with slimmer headlights and a new front bumper. Each headlight is shaped to sit flush with its own bumper, so the first thing to know is which version your car is. Once you know that, choosing your VMSS upgrade is simple.
Pre-LCI cars (2019 to mid-2022) and LCI facelift cars need different headlights. Pick the VMSS listing made for your version and you get laser-style looks and white and yellow daytime lights that switch on the fly, plug and play. Not sure which you have? Send us your reg and we'll tell you.
Step 1: Pre-LCI or LCI?
Any one of these checks will tell you:

Step 2: Check your factory headlights
- Standard LED: no blue inside, and the beams don't move with the steering.
- Adaptive LED: looks very similar, but the beams turn with the steering.
- Laserlight: blue inlays inside the headlight and "BMW Laser" lettering. Easy to spot, even parked.

A factory-shape replacement with twin LED projectors, blue laser-look accents and white L-shaped daytime lights. Available for standard LED, adaptive LED and Laserlight cars, so it's the one to look at if your car came with Laserlight.
Fitting a facelift bumper to a pre-LCI car?
Choose your headlights by the bumper the car will wear, not the year it was built. If you're converting a pre-LCI car to an LCI bumper, tell us before ordering and we'll confirm the right set for your build, so everything sits flush.
What fitting involves
- Disconnect the battery.
- Remove the front bumper to reach the headlight bolts.
- Unbolt the old headlights and unplug them.
- Plug the new ones into the factory connector. No cutting, no adapters.
- Test everything before refitting the bumper: dipped beam, main beam, daytime lights, indicators and the colour switch.
- Refit the bumper and aim the beams on a wall in the dark.

Does it fit the G21 Touring?
The Laser Style (Pre-LCI), Laser Style (LCI) and 1:1 Laser Style (LCI) sets fit the G21 Touring as well as the G20 saloon. The Laser Look is listed for the G20 and G28 saloon.
How do I switch between white and yellow?
Flash your high beam. No app, no coding. Full instructions come in the box.
Do I need coding?
No coding is needed for the main lighting functions. If your car ever needs any to make them work, we do it for free. If a leftover dashboard warning appears and you'd like it gone, we can remove it remotely for £30.
My car has adaptive LED or Laserlight. Can I still upgrade?
Yes. The Laser Look set is offered for standard LED, adaptive LED and Laserlight cars. Send us your VIN and we'll confirm the best option for your exact spec.
Did the facelift change the taillights?
No. The LCI kept the same taillight design, so a pre-LCI car needs nothing at the back to match.
